Well I ordered end of Dec and took delivery in March (see below)...but this was unusual. The dealer will tell you 3 - 4 months.

I ordered in late dec. and am getting del. hopefully this weekend. I gave a $2500 deposit. Just keep in mind maybe they will have inventory that you like and maybe even a discount on inventory cars. I believe discounts are hard to get on order to spec cars.

You might want to start talking with dealers pretty soon to get some timing... Caymans are selling at a good clip and dealers in places where Porsches are popular (CA, FL, etc.) are almost through their allotments for the year... and the factory takes vacation in August to tool up for the next model year. A dealer would be able to give you a much better feel for timing like you're looking for than anyone on this board, save Woodhouse. Only a dealer can look at their bookings and see what slots are available for the rest of the year.
You might try Circle Porsche - located on the big traffic circle in Long Beach... They're near you, they have decent volume which means they have good allotments, and yet they're not as well known around LA as some of the other dealers. I've also heard good things about them from people who have dealt with them. Then again, YMMV.
