Picking it up in 1 hour (kinda)

Quick question to all of you:

The lever/button on the side of the passenger seat (the one adjusting the back) is broken and will be fixed on Monday. They found out when they prepped the car yesterday.

Because I was so excited to drive my porsche this weekend, the dealer told me I can drive the cayman loaner for the weekend, and pick up my baby on Monday.

Would anybody have a problem with buying a brand new car that has a minor defect?

I talked to the master tech, and he said it is a very minor thing and will take just an hour.

Anyway, I guess it's not a big deal, but kinda weird. Maybe it is just my OCD kicking in?

Thanks.

Congrats and welcome to the club!

Where in NY are you and who is the dealer?

The switch is a minor issue but I completely understand the desire for the car to be PERFECT on delivery.

Use the loaner this weekend in the rainy weather, it should be nice and sunny on Monday!

I live in Syracuse, NY. The dealer is Burdick.

You are right, I can play with the loaner in the rain, and pick up my new baby when it's sunny.

My wife is excited, because this will be her only chance to drive the cayman.

That is just minor, but I suppose they will have to order the part etc. It is good that they caught it and offered a loaner all broken in for you to try it. I would take a nice weekend trip somewhere sunny, the miles are free, right?

Being in the repair industry myself, there are some white little lies that are known in industry (not that I use them), but sometimes the detailer doesn't show up and you just can't meet your promised delivery, that would be totally unacceptable, but a broken little part sounds better, no? Regardless, everything I hear about Porsche and these cars is good, no worries. Enjoy your loaner, and drive it like you stole it!

Enjoy the 4000+ rpm range on the loaner while you can...I'm still in the 2000 mile break-in period on my CS.

OMG!!!! The drive home from the dealer was pure bliss. I'm in awe!

Best purchase ever! The handling is superb, if the 335 was a sharp knife, the cayman is a scalpel.

You feel the road, the sound of the engine is pure porsche, and the braking is incredible. Although the torque isn't that strong at the lower rpm's it doesn't make me miss the 335 torque monster at all.

I drove the car for 3+ hours, I only stopped when the wife called; it was getting dark and I had to come in for dinner....

I'm hooked, porsche it is - for life!

Congratulations on your purchase! Enjoy your Cobalt beauty! Fall is a great time to get to know a Porsche in the Northeast. 987f
