Circled number

Looking for a little help with something that is showing up below my digital speed indicator on my 2007 Cayman S. Its a large circled number (36) that has recently come on and off, usually after I corner. I called the local service dept and the adviser said it was a speed setting I must of activated and that I should be able to turn it off---to look in my manual to find how to do so (I was disappointed in his level of "help"). I have been unable to locate anything in the manual. This may be something fairly common, but its new to me.
Help please??

The instructions for setting the speed warning alarm with your on board computer are indeed in the Owner's Manual. You can download a searchable PDF version from our files section. You will find many useful things in it that will help you enjoy the car even more. If you set it with the OBC you will find illustrated instructions under the topic Acoustic Warning Signal for Speed Limit. If you have PCM I think there are settings there as well.

I have a 2006 Cayman S, and the manual ( copy is in PDF on the sidebar on the home page of this site ) shows all that you need to know on Page 92,93 & 94 with the specifics being on page 94 for the speed alert setting.

I have mine set to 70MPH, so when I hop on the freeway, I know that I may be breaking the posted limit, as I usually spend my time with safety more than velocity. Then I know to back off a little

Thanks Santa Fe. I've been through my manuel and all I can find is the information about the Acoustic Warning Signal for speed limit just the circled number. (I get no alarm sound), I will play with the on board computer a little more to see if I can disengage the symbol. I parked the car fairly quickly after I got the warning (its not my primary vehicle) until I could investigate further.
Thanks again

That's on the bottom of page 95. Setting the acoustic warning signal to active.
