Scratched my Porsche badge on the steering wheel

I traded my 2008 CS in for a Carrera S about 2 months ago as the wife said I needed a family car hehe and unfortunately I must have caught my watch or ring on the steering wheel badge and as such I've scratched one of the black lacquer stripes. This has left a rather unsightly gold line in my field of vision.

Apparantly Porsche can't get me a new one, I need to order a whole new airbag unit which I'm obviously not going to do. I've tried to cover it up with a Sharpie and that gives an OK look but naturally I still know its there. Is there a specific type of paint I can use to touch this up with? Or does anyone else know another solution to this?

Many thanks in advance.

The correct shade of Testor's airplane model enamel paint, VERY WELL MIXED, should do a nice job.

That would be perfect, I'd just need to know the colour code if possible? Someone out there must have scratched a crest at some point!?

Since you traded the CS for a Carrera S, why don't you trade the Carrera S for a Carrera Turbo? That will get rid of the scratch. Forever!

Because I scared the hell out of my wife in my Dad's 997TT so a Turbo isn't on the cards until that memory subsides!

Yikes, I was getting in my Cayman the other day and the zipper on my laptop case put a "scratch" on the leather at the bottom of the steering wheel. I feel your pain. It's really not a big deal but it will bug me from now on, but I suspect anything I try doing to correct it will just make it look more prominent.

Hey, I was just kidding. But this goes to show you how simple it is to f@%# these things up. One minute you're exiting the car, the next minute you have an eternal reminder of “that time I exited the car”. I have one of those moments, too: “The time my wife exited in reverse her SUV out of the garage”. Mmmm, I remember “that time”.

Sorry to bump this but I thought I'd try again.

Does anyone know the colour code for the black on the Porsche crest so that I can repaint the scratch.

Also I'm glad I came back here, think I'm going to get one of those nice Softronic remaps on my 997S
