New to the forum and thought I would say Hi!

Just last week I purchased a 2008 Cayman S, Meteor Gray with a few options, and am learning a lot by lurking here. First priority is to get my Valentine 1 hardwired and figure out the best option for playing the iPod.

I sold my 2008 Smart car for the Cayman, so you could say I am really moving up in the world! Actually, you could also say I flipped the Smart, getting about $1,500 more than sticker after enjoying it for 6 months and 6,000 miles. It was always going to be a short-term vehicle. I got on the reservation list early on a lark and thought I could get a few months of fun out of it without any real cost.

My real dilemma is what to do with my 2001 Audi TT Roadster. This car is the love of my life and I always said I would keep it forever. It seems a little redundant now, except that it is great in the north Texas spring and fall with the top down. I would just keep it, but my two-car garage isn't sufficient, as I also have a 2006 MINI Cooper S that comes in handy when I need that third and fourth seat (mostly for nephews). Both the Audi and the MINI are nicely modded, so I'll look into those options for the Cayman. I'm very satisfied (OK, thrilled) with it just as it is, though.

Anyway, thought I would just introduce myself. I look forward to getting to know you through the forum and in person. I think I hold the national record for attending the most TT events -- from Key West to Vermont to Arizona, so you will probably see me around. Too bad I just missed Croctoberfest. I'm particularly interested in any Texas events!

Welcome to the site and thanks for the nice introduction. If you have checked out the Articles section yet there are some very good "how to's" including hard wiring radar detectors.

Thanks -- I have seen the most excellent articles. I printed out the hard-wiring how-to; now I just have to convince a buddy to do it (I know nothing about car electronics). I figure the guy who did my MINI can probably handle it -- he is driving a POS at the Houston LeMons race in a couple of weeks so it may have to wait till after that.
