Get Yer Cayman T Shirts!

Walking through the parts department of a Columbus, Ohio dealership yesterday, I was stopped in my tracks by a black T-shirt displayed in a case. On the front was 'Stir thngs up' and on the back, a rear shot of our favorite car underneath of which was written:

0-60 5.1 sec - 3.4 L - 295 HP - 171 MPH

According to the dealer, these were distributed for promotional purposes and were being given away to customers who spent at least $100. I went ahead and got one of those nifty Teflon coated umbrellas that fit the passenger-side sill and a couple of other things, and now have the T shirt. Thought you would like to know.

BTW, is anyone else out there making an inventory of the promotional items Porsche is releasing, such as CD's, posters, etc. that might make great collector's items?

I need to ping the person at Porsche again about this as I have not heard anything one way or another about logo approval, thanks for the reminder!

i got one of the cayman t-shirts in the mail around christmas time from porsche, it came in a fancy package.i had purchased a new porsche 15 years ago and about twice a year i would get some form of print advertisment from them.i was really surprised to get the t-shirt and info on the cayman. i would say the marketing worked because i went to check out the cayman in january and purchased one a few months later.

Exactly the same thing happen to me...I had my 96 993 and was fat dumb and happy and along comes the t-shirt and this incretiable brochure...so I go to the Dealer here in Denver and there is a Black Cover over the car to entice you further. Anyway, they remove the cover and I'm dead meat.

I ordered my Cayman, Artic Silver with Terracotta Interior, and then proceed to sell the 993; the car arrived about a week ago and I'm slowly breaking it in; avoiding stop and go driving. These Porsche Marketing people really know how to play with your mind...the entire Organization really has it together. I just hope they stay private and profitable as times goes by. This is my 8th Porsche.

Enjoy your car, Regards, Paul G

The PCA Cayman Register logo is almost done so we can use that for a shirt for PCA/Register members, more to follow soon.
