Twin Round Tips!

Hi

Does anyone have the twin round chrome Exhaust tips yet? Or anybody seen them in person or got personal (not Porsche) pics?

They are available now (£300-ish fitted), just wondering if anyone has them yet.

FWIW had these on my original order but got knocked back by Porsche as too early in production. They look ok but glad I didn't now as I like the uniquness of the standard ones and with a bit of elbow grease they look much better. Save your money and put it into a new short shifter . . . report to follow next week!

Cheers

I have a set on order (from Booth), but no indication of when they will arrive in the US.

I have the round exhausts tips and I think they look much better than the rectangular originals. I will post a pic first chance.

I have seen the factory two pipe piece at a dealer. Definitely not worth $450 list. The chrome pieces overlay a standard pipe and the quality of the welds on the unit I saw were horrid. It might look good at a distance, but not a quality piece.

I found this on Rennlist. They are Porsche OEM. Not the best view, but at least something.

And the factory Porsche photo can be found here (as posted by Mpollard). Still doesn't provide a real life look. http://www.caymanclub.net/topic.asp?...le=Cayman+Chat

suncoast has the part now. $400. That's better than the dealer's price.

I spoke with Ralph Boothe at Boothe Design yesterday about this and he shares the same opinion. He got a couple in to look at and said that the outer chrome piece just masks an inner pipe and that the welds were terrible, plus his cost from Porsche was almost the retail price so there was no room to do anything with this tip and make it marketable. I think Ralph is going to pass on these, but maybe he'll sell you the couple he has in stock to get rid of them, but as others have said, not worth the $$$$ in Ralph's opinion.
