Closing Rear Hatch

Does someone want to tell me how we are suppose to close the hatch when it is open in its fullest position? I am only 5'9', so it does not appear as though I am going to be able to reach it. Perhaps this picture exaggerates the height of the open hatch. If not, I will either have to walk around to the side of the car or need a long pole with a hook.

Interesting observation. I can imagine some of us falling into the trunk trying to close it.

Engine access from the 'top' is highly unlikely, need to remove from bottom as per Boxsters. Also, where is that 'flexible thingie'?

My wife's Lexus RX330 SUV comes with a power rear hatch. Had this been an option it would have added both a practical and a 'cool' element to the Cayman S. Of course Porsche would have charged dearly for this. Also, I'm sure that adding a motor to the hardtop would be impractical, given the cockpit size.

Which Cayman is that from? Just goes to show if I go with a clear engine cover I'll have to dress the engine up somehow, looks pretty bland.

An older Boxster - in the owner's manual (IIRC) you can get the steps - involves putting the top up partially, and a couple of other finagles (Ctrl-Alt-Dlt or something like that ; -) - there is an exterior cover, and then an interior cover.

Ugh I should have known by the 3rd brake light in the picture and the intake configuration, next time I'll pay more attention.

It was the first thing I did when I had it in the driveway (before running it through the test loop - about 14 miles of varying roads on the east side of KC). I wonder how many owners of Boxsters have cracked these panels open?
