View Poll Results: Have/will you track your Cayman?
It would be interesting to learn what % of you have driven,or are planning to drive your Cayman on a track - presumably in timed lap sprints rather than competitive racing.
For those who have already tracked their car and are looking for their next thrill, or for those who have not yet tracked their car, be sure to Check Out This Topic!
I live 3 Km. far from Monza ... I'm so close to the track that when the GP take place I use towatch the TV with the windows opened, so I directly hear the noise .
Be sure that I will test my caymanon the Monza track!!!
When I go to Australia ... I will let you know, Liquidator !!!
I'm sure we will enjoy the curves of the Adelaide hills and also the wine .

Thanks for your invitation!!!
You are most welcome! Do I sense an invitation to the Italian F! grand prix coming up?!!
ps my wine is called Pholi - derived from the names of my children, Phoebe (nearly 19) and Oliver (16). It is an unwooded chardonnay made from 9 year old vines, grown in a cool climate area (well Australia in winter can get cold occasionally!). My wife Jane loves Italy - she used to go to Florence annually to study art, language and culture. Probably also Ferraris!
Went to Streets of Willow (Springs, CA) 4/8/06 and turned a 1:33 clockwise in the long track configuration, GT-3's were turning 1:33 to 1:37's (no good drivers) and a GT-3 Cup with a driver turned a 1:22. Out of 100 cars, 25 full race prep cars, my stock Cayman S on street tires turns a 1:33 (and yesI am a very experienced very competitive and winning driver/instructor).
Had her on the big track at Willow Spings, CA 4/23/06 for lunchtime parade laps with POC at speed! I did not get any times as my transponder was at home with my driving gear. With a passanger just cruising we were doing 125 mph to 135 mph in turn 8. My 80' SCRS only did 125 mph in turn 8 and my 2.7 RSR racecar was geared to 142 in turn 8. This car is very impressive on the track. Cannot wait for time at Willow. I expect1:36's on street tires and 1:34's or better on track tires.
I am going to California Speedway at Fontana this weekend with Porsche Owners Club and Speed Ventures. TRE Motorsports is settingup a track alignment. And I have a new set of Michilin Pilot Sport Cups coming fromTireRack. I am expecting a very very fast street car on the track this Cayman S will be.
Then going to Sears Point (Infineon) with Coastal Driving 6/5/06.
Then working on some better track tires and 9' front wheels and suspension upgrades, sqay bars, camber plates, etc.
I think I will keep this Cayman S as my primary hi performance street carso I don't want to go too crazy while it is still under factory lease and warrenty. I am going to build a Spec Boxster full racecar for 207 or 2008 season. We are finishing a911/993 widbody with my old 2.7 RSR parts for the 06/07 season. Then selling the rear engine cars and going pure mid engine for me ( a 25 year 911 tail dragger guy, go figure).
However, when the lease is up it will be hard to resist taking the 3.4 out of the Cayman dropping it in the Spec Boxster and getting theX-51 or GT-3 motor for the Cayman!
