Tennessee Tubs 356 Porsche Club (w/pics)

Hello all,

Kaiser Sozay (Paul) recommended via PM that I check out the Tennessee Tubs 356 Porsche Club BBQ and Porsche gathering. It is held every year on Cal Turner's beautiful farm/ranch south of Nashville (it was held yesterday - Saturday). Cal Turner is the owner of 'Dollar General' by the way. He has quite the Porsche collection. The event started at 9am and ended at 2pm. I was very glad I went.

There ended up being about 150 assorted Porsches there (and one Ferrari). There were many 356s there as well as a 356 Speedster or two, a Carrera GT, a Porsche tractor, Porsche Jeep, and many other vintage Porsches. For me, it was the perfect way to introduce myself to the Porsche world by seeing many different model types. I love learning about the history of Porsche. I had a lot to learn (my Cayman S is my first Porsche). There was also one other Cayman there (Carmon Red with Sand Beige). Both our Cayman S' received quite a bit of attention. People kept asking me how it drove and I said, 'Pretty well, but it's my first Porsche and I've only had it 2.5 days.'

They also had a BBQ, which cost $10 and was all you could eat. Of course, I did partake in that. Mmmmm good. I'm not Southern but I love their BBQ, sweet tea, and Southern Belles.

After the 356 Contour awards were given out, everyone took off. It was neat driving on the freeway with many Porsches all around. It was definitely a cool way to spend my 3rd day with my new Cayman S. I met some cool people and got to talk, 'Porsche'. Fun, fun, fun!

Special thanks to Paul (Kaiser Sozay) for giving me the heads up and directions. Thanks Paul!
I've got pictures of the tractor and jeep too but I could only load 14 of the 52 pictures I took (takes to long to shrink them, load them, post them).

Pictures below:

Hope you all enjoyed,

Shane

HD: Thanks for the neat pix; looks like a good time was had by all.

I started out thinking about Midnight, then considered Carmon, Guards and Black; but now I'm absolutely convinced that 'White Makes Right.' I'm waiting for the '07 non-S (assuming there will actually be such a thing), since power takes a back seat for me to styling and price; but then I'm leaping in with both feet. Having to wait just to order a car is almost as agonizing as your wait to get yours built and shipped.

Carrara GT was a 'paint to order' color. It looked like a really light, sand brown. It was a really pretty color. I have bigger pictures of it if you're interested PM me with your email address and I'll email you the pics of it. I have more pics of the interior and engine.

Great pictures Shane, especially the one of my Carmon Red Cayman S. I think our Cayman's got as much attention as the 356's. BTW, that's me standing behind the GT with my arms folded.
