i have been sent the MY2007 order guide for Cayman (S) by my dealer confidentially, so 'try to treat it that way'....
How do i get it to the Forum????
it is in German, but also includes the NA guide.
for non german speakers:
The only new options for the S model are:
<ul>[*]Sports exhaust (i dont mean the tips, i mean the full exhaust system including the switch like in the 911)[*]headliner in alcantara
Regards,
Nick

PSE - Porsche Sports Exhaust System
The acoustics of this dual-mode sports exhaust system are dependent on driving style, ranging from standard output during normal road driving to a more aggressive tone during performance use. Modes are selected using a button on the center console (or ‘Sport’ mode button on vehicles with optional Sport Chrono Package/Sport Chrono Package Plus).
Introduction planned for 04/2007. Some models may require additional components. For detailed information about this product, please contact your Porsche dealer.

Nick, Does 2007 Order Guideindicate the performance increase with the sport exhaust or is this a cosmetic accessory?

Not to be a pill, but I think if the dealer gave it to you in confidence, you probably shouldn't post it up on this site... I'm sure having it posted on a worldwide forum like this, is the last thing they were thinking would happen when they gave it to you. If they were to violate a trust to you, the customer, in the same manner, you would be all over this site griping up a storm about it. Porsche AG could get on their case, and they just might be a little less then accomodating when it comes time for them to reciprocate on your behalf, if something were to go wrong with your car in the future... You'd be surprised who reads a lot of this stuff, and how word can get around.
Maybe tell us what's different or new in it - but my friendly advice is don't post it up here... that's just wrong.

I suppose the sport exhaust will be available as a dealer replacement to our Caymans in '07? Wonder what the benefits will be?

Ken, Will you respond to questions about 07 features and options?
When I return from my business trip I can look up questions, it isn't on my laptop unfortunately. I was also tied up this morning and afternoon in meetings I could not break away from so I was late in getting the base Cayman annoncement up on the web home page (it is there now btw). I figured sending the newsletter out the night before was a good prelude, I just didn't have time to follow it up this morning, my apologies for not posting the info sooner but keep in mind I have certain promises I've made to Porsche and one of them is not posting any official documents before they are officially released. I sometimes 'hint' at things though for those who read between the lines of some of my posts...
Suffice it to say that the items previously posted we a couple of things I noticed at first glance. I would be surprised if an item like the sports exhaust was ready to go on the first cars for 07, but rather much like the tequipment tips shows up later in the production runs. I don't think the Porsche sports exhaust will outperform other exhausts in terms of HP (they never do) and they won't be the cheapest (they never are), but often times have a very good sound to them. Obviously, up to each person to decide whether they want it or not.
I have mixed feelings on items like paint colors changing from one price point to another, for example if I had spent $3K+ for speed yellow in 1999 only to find it be a standard color in 2000 I would be miffed. The same may be true of owners of colors that get moved around, but obviously Porsche makes to guarantee as to future pricing, performance, etc.
