Basalt Black: Color code

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if anyone who owns a Basalt Black Cayman can give me the code for the panit color which is located on the driver side insidesomewhere. The reason is becasue i am getting my car next week sometime from the dealerand i have ordered the Techart body kit and i wanted to get it painted before i take it in for install. Makes the process quicker. Since i dont have the car yet, the paint shop needs the color code to get working on it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

Actually i dont need the porsche ordering color code, i need the color code on the inside of the door sill of the car that tells the body shop how to match the color. This is a different code. Anyone else? Thanks though elam.

I have a Basalt Black Metallic Cayman S. I looked everywhere on the car and I don't see a paint code listed anywhere. If someone can tell me exactly where this informationis located on the car, I'll be happy to post it for you. My build sheet says Z4Z4: BASALTSCHWARZMETALLIC

The paint code is on a sticker that also shows all the codes for your options that is glued to the underside of the front hood of the car. There's a matching sticker on the inside cover or first page of your maintenance booklet. It looks like a bunch of little numbers - but they should correspond with the option numbers on your order sheet. For the paint code, you kinda have to know what you're looking for.

Has anyone else reading this thread installed similar body panels, Techart or whatever,on their Cayman? Are there any pictures out there floating around?

I love the look of the Techart body work, in particular the side skirts and the black bits near the tail pipe. But I'm wondering if there's any downside to this. Has anyone experienced problems with doing this (improper fit, squeeks, rattles, color mis-matches, etc.) and what did it cost in materials (any discounts?) and labor to install. I didn't see another thread on this, perhaps we need one. Thanks! -sjd

I am only going to install the side skirts and the side mirror inserts. I will keep the fron stock because i like the way it looks and i dont want it too low to scrape the front. The side skirts are $1295.00 not painted or installed ad the mirror inserts are $289.00 not painted or installed. Every body shop will have its own costs on that.Knwing Techart, it will have a nice fit. It also depends on the body shop and their work.
