The Roadside Assistance manual showed up yesterday. There a couple of interesting comments that those waiting on their Caymans might like to be aware of.
' When an N-spec tire becomes damaged it must be replaced'
'In all situatons N-spec tires are not repairable'
'Specifically excluded from this coverage are: Vehicle abuse, accidents, acts of God, competition racing or track use'
'If your Porsche has aftermarket tires and/or wheels installed or has had the suspension modified, Porsche Roadside Assistnace will assist in setting up transport of your vehicle, but his expense will not be covered...'
Doc Rishi, the rule regarding not toying for an accident might be a US only restriction. You might want to check your copy. It does make sense though, right? Porsche Roadside Assistance is for mechanical issues. Hopefully you have auto insurance which covers towing in the case of an accident.
Thans HSJB....I guess tht applies to U.S. Porsche Roadside Assistance...Out here in the U.K.,most insurance companies do not provide the service for roadside assistance as standard, unless you pay extra for it......We usually depend on third party roadside assistance....I have the croc on order, so I cant see whts in the book..
However, many manufacturers includeroadside assisitance (with help with accidents)as standardwhen you buy a new car...Well, at least my Mazdadid...... Hence, I did not need to take outa furtherpolicy, and not pay extra to the insurance company to provide me with one asthe services would overlap with that of the manufacturer...
And here I am assuming that Porsche will do the same as well...Otherwise its an extra £50 for a third party assistance..
My wife just got something about Porsche Roadside Assistance for her 2004 Cayenne Turbo, but after spending $90k on my Cayman, I've not gotten anything in the mail from Porsche -- not Christopherus, not Roadside Assistance.... Guess I'm just not as important as her since I got a 'budget Porsche....'
