sightings in Austin

On my way to work this morning on 360 at Spicewood Springs, I saw a beautiful yellow GT3. Then, on the way home, at the same intersection, I saw a more beautiful yellow Cayman S. Both were spotless. What a day.

My black Cayman isn't due for another month. Seeing those just made the wait much harder.

The yellow Cayman S was probably me, as far as I know I am the only Speed Yellow here in Austin. If it was around 5:45 this evening it was me. Hopefully you can make it out to a HCR Porsche lunch or happy hour once your car arrives. The waiting is not easy.

I've still not come across another Cayman in Houston.

MadEric,

That was the time, so it must have been you. I plan on joining the local PCA when my car gets in. I'm looking forward to the events. Hope to meet you at one.

What is killing me right now is that the Motorsport Ranch track day is happening about a week before my car gets here. Hate to miss that. I drove my 2002 Z06 at an event there, and I had a blast.

to my austin cayman s brothers...are you experiencing rear hatch or suspension thumping noise. mine only occurs over small repetitious bumps at a certain speed. danny (service foremen) at roger beasley was able to duplicate the noise on mine as well as couple of other cars on their lot but have not found a solution yet, including the service order fix of the rubber stops on the hatch. [/quote]

After taken apart the rear hatch, the service foreman noticed a 6-8 pound metal bar/or weight attached to rear hatch was making contact marks toits surrounding hatch area. weare trying to see if adding shims and felt liner will stop the noise until Porsche comes up with a permanent fix.

i am responding to this common problem in the compliant forum.

OK, you other Austin, TX Cayman followers.. you do not necessarily NEED a CAYMAN to attend the monthly lunch bunch or happy hour. Maderic is a regular and so if you want to see his speed yellow or marcs carmon red or others, the odds are they may be at the Porsche club (NO RSVP) get togethers. Lunch Bunch is tomorrow/Thursday/June 8th, at Rocco's on Hwy 620. There will be other Porsches too. You are invited.

Another month, another lunch. Next one is July 13th at Bear Rock Cafe on Parmer Lane == west of MoPac about a street and a half. August LB will be at Ruggles in major shop center near 360 and Bee Caves Road. Many Porsche folks will be at West Lake Beach on Lake Austin on Saturday, July 8th. Neither PCA membership nor Cayman ownership are required. If Porsche owners or wannabes have a boat on Lake Austin, cruise on up and check inalong canal at West Lake Beach.
