Just got back from the track, no time to chat, meeting people for dinner but the Cayman S never failed to impress, the former President of PCA was impressed as were many others that drove, rode in, or observed the Cayman S passing them at the track and had to come into the paddock and seek the car out to find out all about it. My biggest moment was a 993 Twin Turbo owner who let me past him on the track came over after the run and said that I was clearly faster than him. This is the same guy and same car that my 2005 Boxster S couldn't touch last year, so that was quite a testament to the car!
LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! Even if I didn't have a harness (thank goodness for CG Locks at least!)
Pics and video to come tomorrow night or Monday. Also greets to the 2 other CaymanClub members in attendance, Tom from KC and Trackster from St. Louis!

This confirms what we believed in all along, that the Cayman S 'IS THE PORSCHE' of today bar none. Congrats to Porsche for building such a GREAT car and K-Man S for proving it to us all.

What is so nice about the Cayman is that it is capable at AX, on the track, spirited (and safe) road driving and just cruising around. Grins at all times.
Aluminum doors, Free breathing exhaust & an LSD is all that we need.
LSD - Limited Slip Differential
A limited slip differential (LSD) is a modified or derived type of differential gear arrangement that allows for some difference in rotational velocity of the output shafts, but does not allow the difference in speed to increase beyond a preset amount. In an automobile, such limited slip differentials are sometimes used in place of a standard differential, where they convey certain dynamic advantages, at the expense of greater complexity.
The main advantage of a limited slip differential is found by considering the case of a standard (or "open") differential where one wheel has no contact with the ground at all. In such a case, the contacting wheel will remain stationary, and the non-contacting wheel will rotate freely– the torque transmitted will be equal at both wheels, but will not exceed the threshold of torque needed to move the vehicle, thus the vehicle will remain stationary. In everyday use on typical roads, such a situation is very unlikely, and so a normal differential suffices. For more demanding use however, such as driving off-road, or for high performance vehicles, such a state of affairs is undesirable, and the LSD can be employed to deal with it. By limiting the velocity difference between a pair of driven wheels, useful torque can be transmitted as long as there is some friction available on at least one of the wheels.

Congratulations! You must be in heaven. Hope you are able to get to sleep before the reality of Monday strikes! I'm looking forward to the videos. Ready to Club Race?
I'm going to do a write-up in a separate topic so look for that and right now I'm letting my machine render an 8-1/2 minute clip that is one of my favorites from this weekend (40% done right now should be ready in another 30 minutes or so) and will post that as soon as I can. I also have just a few still shots in the paddock as I didn't have anyone to take pics of my car for me on the track and no pro photogs were there this weekend for some reason which was too bad, great weather for the most part.
