Fuel Tank Diagnostic Pump - WTF??
Car #0984. This is the 3rd time that my check engine light has triggered. The first was the gas cap (?) I don't think so. The second - gas cap ( nope, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt). This time, I handed the car over ... and ...
Starting in 2006, the dealer no longer can perform diagnostics by using a logic tree. Nope. Now they have to punch the code (P1486) in the computer and ... walla ... whatever code number went in didn't get a response!!!
They must be using old Intel CPUs with undocumented BIOS interrupts - WTF??? Or the mothership was outta range ...
So, they used last years logic tree for ?? as I guess the emissions are similar (??) and deduced that the problem may be the Fuel Tank Diagnostic Pump ( if you don't know what that is, that's tonights homework assignment).
That part is on order - just in case the light comes back on - or in case it doesn't and it can be there for somebody else.
The things we do to keep the fishbowl clean. Why can't I just purchase the emissions from a neighbor with a Prious, like big industry does???
So, I have the little G8TR back home. But now, the stereo won't turn on. Apparently, it doesn't think that it belongs in my car - a security feature. Maybe it's a homeland security feature, cause my Homelink won't open the garage either. You think they got a little carried away clearing stuff?? I do.
