Stolen Center Caps Anyone??

I got my center caps stolen the other day, and then the next day noticed a 986 with his stolen as well. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem? As you all know its like 150 bucks to get a new set, which I did already order, so I am assuming some kids got smart and are making a little bit of cash at my expense. I am tempted to park it in the same spot and wait for them to come back and try again.

I am sorry to hear that but I have a suggestion, save your $$$ on the Porsche plastic ones and instead buy a set of billet ones from Boothe Design one of our sponsors. They mount on the back via locking screws and there is NO WAY they are getting these center caps off without either taking your entire wheel or breaking them and making them worthless (highly doubt they could break them though).

Check www.boothedesign.com and tell Ralph you saw them here...

Speaking of Boothe Design. Got my order from Ralph today____socket and extension. Plus, he threw in the Sunday, January 15 issue of the Rancho Mirage Desert Sun Porsche want adds section of the newspaper. Of course it was just packing material but still interesting to read what used P cars are selling faron the left coast. Definitely would recommend Boothe, joshb1. Sorry about the misfortune. If you stalk those guys get iton film. Don't risk your life over center caps.Best of luck.

I agree completely with the comments. Comparing stock with Boothe is like a wooden nickel to a silver dollar. One wonders why anyone would steal such a part? Kids I suspect. Caught some stealing my vavle stem caps right under my nose!

One thing to note about Boothe caps is that they are not coated, and as such will tarnish without proper care. Such care (metal polish) can be harmful to the finish on wheels. I decided to take out the caps to polish them. any advice on a metal polish that will not damage clear coat?

I wondered if this might happen when I ordered my colored center caps. I was assured that this never happens by the sales person.
