The most powerful Cayman on the board?

Which member owns the most powerful Cayman around here?

Has anyone yet gone RUF, Farnbacher, 9ff, custom etc etc. I have been playing around with the idea for a while. I think I have finally decided upon RUF but I was just looking for feedback from owners that have gone aftermarket, and what they thought of their choice.

Silent Will,

Please let RUF know that you saw there ad here, after all they are a sponsor! I'd say to answer your question the user 'gator' here works at F-L so he probably drives the most powerful Cayman among us, although there may be other members here who've done mods and I know some of them are signed up for the 9ff group buy so they will be getting more power shortly. I'm sitting at around 285-290 at the rear wheels at the moment and will have HP soon, but I know there are others who have more. Sure I'd love a supercharger or larger engine (GT3 motor for me please!) but all of those options are too costly for me, hmm unless I can charge 5 cents a viewing for topics in the forum... yeah that's the ticket! With regard to RUF I've driven a couple of their cars and they've always been great.

Thx for the feedback. I am 99% set on RUF. I know it is a little more costly but as you said, their reputation and products proceeds them. I spoke with them last week and the Cayman upgrades are not quite ready yet. I am waiting patiently...

I certainly will let the guys at RUF know that I saw them on here and that I am a member of the site.

BTW, does anybody know what the F-L options are for the Cayman? Do they just sell complete cars or are upgrade packages available? If so, what are the packages and prices?

I couldn't find much info on their website.

Gator?

Will,

The other thing good about Ruf, is that they a registered as an actual car manufacturer - they are not just an aftermarket tuner... when you get one of their full-blown models like the Rt12 for instance, they carry a Ruf serial number.

Brad,

I might be mistaken but I believe they also offer warranties on their upgrade packages as well. I will confirm with Wayne.

I wish I could afford an Rt12 - that is my favorite car right there![img]/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/heart.gif[/img]

Will, you are not mistaken - they do have a warranty on their upgrades... like you, I'm not sure what they're going to be offering, but given the choice between a supercharger on the current engine, or a 3.8 conversion with a brand-new crated motor, I'd probably choose the latter... that said, I'm pretty sure their supercharger conversions include a lot of modifications to the present motor - new pistons, valve gear, etc., and it's all warranted...

I met Alois and his wife Estonia through mutual friends and talked with them for quite a long time last year the the Porsche parade in Hershey, and they are two of the nicest people on the planet.

Brad,

Thx for confirming that. To me, the warranty is worth the extra cost alone. And I appreciate RUF standing behind their products as such.

I am waiting for package options and prices from Wayne. I will let you know when I hear from him.
