I went to my local PCA chapter picnic and concours. I just wanted to meet the people and ran my Cayman S through a touch-less car wash to get the dirt and bugs off from my Friday drive to and from Lime Rock. I didn't detail my car and the wheels are embarrassingly dirty. I pulled up across from all the cars on display but they put a number on my car anyway. I was the only Cayman there and obviously won the Cayman class. Much more surprising was when I won People's Choice and went home with two bottles of wine. It was a great way to get welcomed into my local chapter and dispelled the notion that only Carreras are real Porsches. Real Porschephiles accept all the cars, old and new, into the club.

congrats buddy , that was a nice surprise for you! i have found that all of the porsche gatherings are really nice.I recently started attending everything in my area if i am off work.

Congratulations! You've got a little over 4 months to get ready for Hill Country's Porschedillo, our annual Concours in October. You should be able to get those wheels spiffed up by then. Know it's a long drive for you but for those within striking distance of Austin, come on down for Texas-sized welcome.

I also just won a first place in a PCA Concours event inRichmond Virginiawhere there were only 2 Caymans so they grouped me with all 996 and 997's (from 1999 to 2006) models. You're right Porsche people appreciate all Porsches.
