Very nice! Now if I only had the time I'd have more interior pieces painted Atlas!
Ya, Porsche is great at hiding little clips here and there, but in typical German fashion, once you have seen it done and know whats going on it all seems pretty logical. I to have wondered what those little hooks are behind those little plastic squares.......maybe for something during the assembly process?......you never know......but I do know Porsche usually has a reason for everything.
Even if I never have the trim pieces painted, this is a great reference for running down squeaks, buzzesand rattles -- I've already used it to identify two rubber plugs that I found floating around in the car the last time I cleaned it.
I thought removing the center console was hard, man this is tough. I would be happy to pay one or two hours labor to a Porsche dealer for the work. How long did it take the mechanic to take it appart?

Great article as usual K-Man S.
45 actual ninutes to do the whole thing, billed 1 hour.
How much is bumperplugs charging you to paint these pieces? and is there any specific reason why you elected to have this done through them (other then being a sponsor), rather then a local shop?

I don't know the price yet because Eric needs to see the pieces and see what all is involved in painting them. In the future I suspect he'll do this on a parts swap basis like what I did for my console, you pay $x plus your old console for a new painted one.
I went with Eric because not only is he a sponsor but I know his work and I know it is top notch. I've seen 'locally done' items that haven't stood the test of time. Eric uses some special processes and chemicals to get the best and most durable finish. That's what I wanted. I also wanted to give Eric the chance to offer this to other Cayman owners if he can get a set price point and understanding of what it takes to do this, that couldn't happen unless I sent him the parts! Make sense?
