Hi to all, I'm Jerome French expatriate in the middle east (Doha Qatar)
I'm so happy I just ordered my first Porsche and it's a cayman S
My options as follow:
Guard Red
Black full leather interior with red seat belts
Tiptronic
Adaptative sport seats full leather
19" sport design wheels
Bose, PCM, Pack Sport +, TPMS
Rear center console in leather, door in leather
Thicker sport steering wheel in leather
Chrome door sills
Exclusive mats with red leathers

est prod date : september
est delivery November :-(((

Of course as everybody start now a very very long waiting period
The good point is I'm driving a SLK 350 at the moment so at least
I have something nice to drive until I sell it...
The other good point is the price here: around 69000 $
I think it's not bad, back in france would have been around 100k$

Happy driving to all of you

thank you for your warm welcome.
For silent will : I love the SLK 350 it's an amzing car and it's really fun to drive. Mine come with the 7G speedtronic gearbox which is far better than the speedtronic actually, the car is even faster than in the manual configuration. I know lot of people don't like auto but I really think the future is in here. Can't wait to see Porsche come with a robotized one actually :-)

The only thing which decide me to go for the Porsche: sensations! I've tried the Cayman and have to say even if the number are less impressive on it compare to the SLK (5.4 sec from 0 to 100 kph) it feels more sporty... The mercedes is great but soften little bit acceleration and speed curve. (excuse me if I cannot describe better, my english is not that good ;-) )

Also it seems to me that the finnish on the Porsche is better but that's a personal taste. Sure I'll miss the convertible but sure I'll enjoy the 'kick in the ***" from the Porsche ;-)

I had a '99SLK230. I loved that car...right up until the moment I totalled it. Held it's value well though. At the time, I knew the Z3 and Boxster were more 'sports car'. But you CANNOT BEAT the hardtop convertible concept on a sports car IMHO. Yeah, I know, not as stiff; but I was every time I put that top up or down. I'd trade that feature on a daily driver over stiffness anyday. For the third time in this forum, the Boxster should become a hardtop convertible. It'd sell better I'm sure. -Steve
