Sunscreen recommendation

I drive my Cayman to work once or twice a week and there is no covered parking there. I'd like to get a windshield sunscreen that fits the Cayman nicely to reduce cabin heat while it sits under the sun. I couldn't find anything in Tequipment. Anyone have recommendations?

Best solution I've found so far is to get a generic one from autozone, etc and cut to fit. The thicker, the better (STS)because the sunvisor isso small. They also fit nicely between the passenger door and seat when driving (if solo).

Thanks mt647!

I take it that the one for 986 Boxster would fit the Cayman just as well?

RussK,

Your rear sunscreen definitely looks cool

How easy is it to put up when I park and take down when I drive away? Does it affect rear visibility if I leave it on for driving?

RussK, Are you still using the rear window shade? I thought there are some visibility issues with it.

elam,

It does affect your rear visibility some, but not too bad. I was able to put mine in without using the clips, so it comes in and out quickly and easily.

F!, I have not used it since I took it out several months ago. Yes you are right, I did not like the reduction of rear visibility. It only affected the rear visibility at a distance and I was doing a lot of speeding at the time and could not see if there were any cops in back of me, However with the heat of summer I think I might just give it another try..

I have always found that a bath towel that is the color of the interior works very well.

Just received the rear window sun shield and can't believe the instructions that come along with it. No verbiage and only a picture. I've yet been able to figure out how to install the clips.

FYI, as far as front sunscreens go, the one from Covercraft, which is also sold by Porsche dealers, is not fitted properly for the Cayman. It is too short and not quite wide enough. I ordered one from Autoanything, they specifically list the 06-07 Cayman S, and and I'm now trying to return it. I then ordered what I thought would be a better-fitting unit from a Porsche dealer, and it turned out to be the same poorly fitting Covercraft thing, but with a Porsche logo and a storage bag. Sigh.
