I have a small nick in the plastic headlight cover, and was wondering if anyone has any advice on a quick fix. It is not bad enough to replace, but I would like to improve it if possible.
I would first try PlastX from Meguiars, if it was a really shallow nick( it is available in Western auto and alot of other places). For something a little bigger try:
That Black Baron Kit looks pretty good. I will try Meguires first and see what I can do. I think I will probably get the clear plastic covers for the headlight now.
3M bra material is best. That is why most of us cover the headlights as well as the other parts for protection. If you have the expensive lights you 'must' have it.
Not one nick in the body, but I was surprised to find that nick in the headlight. I have not considred the clear bra yet because of the type of driving I do, but might have to recosider.
Even if you don't protect your paint, the 3M headlight pieces are worthwhile to protect from further damage. Depending on your nick, the material may dimish its visibility. I had mine done (as well as the front end, mirrors, etc) before I picked up my car.
Yes you are right. It seems that that plastic that the headlight covers are made of is not immune from damage. I think mine must have taken a direct hit from a small pebble or something. At first I just thought it was some gunk and then when I tried to remove it I realized it was actually a nick.
