My son and I are planning on attending an autofair at the speedway next month and I am going to beentering my cayman. Its going to be my first car show (that i have entered my car in) and my first event with the local PCA. Really looking forward to having some funwith my little guy, seeing lots of other cars and meeting enthusiasts. This particular show pulls porsche owners from as many as 7 nearby states and is one of the largest porsche car club displays in the southeast.
Since I am entering my cayman (i know there are some here that discourage this)...I was just wondering if I should make my car look more stock (put back the 18's and swap out my black foglamp inserts for the red ones). Or does that not really matter. Not sure how they judge, so on and so forth. Any words of advice...besides to make sure that no one touches the car and to zaino the heck out of it? Thanks...

CaymanClub.Net members who are also PCA members should request access to the PCA Member only forum by filling in their PCA Member ID# into their profile and then requesting a group membership addition, both of which can be done in the User Control Panel (User CP)
I've entered numerous car shows in the past so I'm happy to offer some wisdom. If you don't want people to touch your car, get some rope and make a line. Only judges are allowed to cross the line. And since this IS a car show, why bring your car back to stock? Flaunt it if you have it. Make the Cayman community proud.

Well, tomorrow is the big day...my son and I detailed the redrocket tonight. He was so excited, it should be a great time. I will try to get lots of pics and share tomorrow. wish me luck!
I used to attend car shows all of the time with my 67 mustang. I'd recommend bringing a rag or two with you and some glass cleaner with some paper towels. It never fails that you will get something on your car on the way there. Having the right tools removes the frustration. If you use detailing spray like Z6 you may want to do it in the morning when you get there .... just a thought.
well...that was fun. we won first place in the cayman & boxster division. i wish i could say we were up against alot of competition but there were only about 4 boxsters and 2 caymans (mine being one of them). we had a pretty good time with a couple of exceptions which i am going to post in a seperate thread. here are some pics...
