Front License Plate

Ive never had to think about this before but I really really dont want to permanently attach front plates to my CS. What I was thinking was to drill the holes and then find some kind of slim Rubber color matched stopper to put in while the plate isnt on. Dont know how you would attach the plate temporarily though?Does anybody know of anything like this, or have any ideas for a quick type legal attachment?

Ohio is a front/back plate state and Ive never paid any attention, but after looking I'd say at least 1:20 cars are missing front plates...anybody ever had trouble just for that? I basically dont want to get pulled over for no reason (other thanplates)...

E: For the 'slim Rubber color matched stopper;' that is exactly what a sponsor here, BumperPlugs, is all about.

Here's a very elegant solution that screws into the front tow hook bracket. I got one and they are great. I keep itin the the front compartment at the ready should I get stopped. 'Oh forgot to put it back after washing car, officer'

'Any chance moweraxle will give caymanclub members special pricing for front lic plate holder which fits into front tow bar? $84.95 plus $20 shipping seems a little steep for us. Pictures looks great.

TexasRed, he MADE IT for US! I don't know if his prices are low or high or if he's willing to do a group buy but you can always ask, I'm sure some members are just glad he was willing to make it! Thankfully my state doesn't require front plates...

I don't know about elegant. But the idea of keeping it in the front compartment to appease the law sounds great.

E: I just ordered my CS tonight and I plan on taking my chances with no front plate, I too live in Ohio. My wife ( good looking blonde) has had her '04 Audi Cab with no front plates for 2 years now, never stopped. I suppose the first week after I get my CS, I'll get stopped. The majority of CS's I've seen in Ohio, no front plate.

If you can afford a Porsche, you can afford to pay 'non-points' violations like no front plate, no??

Doesn't count against your license or insurance. I'd rather pay 20 of 'em, then put a ugly front plate on the front of some of today's sportscars.

Just my .02 cents.

The decision to ticket you is highly dependent on the cop's mood that day, feelings about your car (maybe he has an american muscle car) or feelings about people "like you" who drive porsches. I suspect officers most are fair. However, too many human variables I cannot control.

IMHO I don't think a man's looks will ever gets him out of a ticket..not even if stopped by a female cop.

I got a no front plate ticket about a month ago. $125.00 in NY. The officer asked why it's not on and I told him it ruins the whole look. He agreed and asked if I will put it on now and I said no. He said he wouldn't either. Just pissed me off he was so nice but still gave me the ticket.

Jneg, sounds like he was cool and giving you an out, which was cool, but I can see where he's coming from. Cops should enforce the law, not decide when, where, and to who it applies.

BTW, anyone want to sign the 'No Front Plate in NJ' petition? - http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_pe...ed.cgi?njplate

Just FYI, 99.99% of those online petitions at petitiononline.com do absolutely nothing and are completely useless. The problem is that none of the 'signatures' are verifiable and there's nothing that prevents people from signing multiple times with different names/email addresses.

If people are going to circulate a petition, then they need to actually do some legwork and physically obtain signatures, names, and identifiable information like an address. Online petitions are nothing but the lazy person's way to think they're actually engaging in some kind of activism.
