Downtime for Server today - well not really!
Some of you can already access the server, others will be getting site access back as DNS records propogate about the Internet. What I was afraid might happen did happen and that was the company that I originally set the domain up with (TZO) pulled the plug on the DNS before they completed the transfer over to our current host's DNS provider. The bad news is that we suffered a period of time today when people couldn't resolve the site (you could still get here by IP address). The good news is that now that we have things together in a central spot we can start doing things like experimenting with other software, providing email, etc. so ultimately we should see some improvements.
I held off on any software work until after Porsche Parade but hope to start some of that in the next week or so, which means those people that responded earlier with suggestions and offers of help I will be taking you up on those soon!
Apologies for this happening everyone, the old DNS provider assured me it wouldn't, yet it did. I'd also like to thank those who sent me email today to alert me to this, even though I knew that it was happening I still appreciate the heads up. Well time to hit the shower and get to bed I've got a long day instructing tomorrow!
