Thanks! Following the procedure to "reset" the door seems to have fixed items 2 and 3. I still cannot operate the windows via the key lock. Can someone confirm this works on their's? I could've sworn this worked before this module was installed.
Also, I didn't turn on the ignition or push any remote keys during the installation process, so i'm not sure what caused the door to go offline. I wasn't actively trying to keep the pins seperated though, so the black and yellow wires probably shorted a few times. Could that be it?
1) The window operation via key in the door lock does not work after installation of this module.
2) The car is supposed to automatically lock itself after unlocking and not opening any doors for 30 seconds. Except now, it ALWAYS locks itself after unlocking regardless of whether I opened the door or not.
3) If you try leaving your door open for a while (then wait until the car automatically locks itself (see bug 2), then close the door, the window does not go back up from the 'slightly open' position it was in with the door open.
I have not tested the rear view mirror yet, but I will report if I find any problems. <hr noshade="" id="quote" height="1" />

This looks like your drivers door has gone offline. Easy to fix: turn on the ignition and the roll both windows down and up again manually. Did you turn the ignition on or push any button on the remote while the door was disconnected?
Once the door is back online, the car should
a) not relock with the driver's door is open
b) close the window gap when the door is closed
c) IF operation of the windows with the key in the doorlock used to work by factory, this should work again, our module does not interfere with this function at all.
If there are any technical questions, please feel free to contact me (the developer) directly at wilhelmy@wilhelmy-it.com
The paper instructions I received with the device still detail the 8 discrete settings... It says to first set to 4 or 5, then turn on ignition, manually move mirror down all the way, shift into reverse, then back into neutral, then check if height is ok. Seems to match the old procedure. (using this procedure worked to program the device, btw, but I was just hoping for more control over how much the mirror dips and not just the return position, which is what I thought the new added feature was)

I just checked again, and the manual still has the 8 discrete position adjustments for the mirror:

We're sorry, it seems the website version of the manual was not updated correctly. All paper versions shipped with the products are the most recent version. Tilt-down level can be adjusted in 4 steps.
My window has never gone down using the key so I wouldn't know. I mentioned it to the dealer once and I think I remember him saying they couldn't set that. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Mods4Cars
Mods4cars was founded in 2002 with the idea to add a highly demanded feature to the otherwise almost perfect Porsche Boxster: Comfort One-Touch roof operation while driving at slow speeds. The resulting product offered not only that, but also allowed quick and easy installation by just swapping out a relay box, thus leaving no traces and no permanent changes on the vehicle. The first smartTOP roof controller was born.
For those of you who have recently received your units and have already installed them, could you please give me an idea of how much time I should allocate for completing this installation? I realize this will depend on one's comfort level with working around the fuse box and the various connectors, etc. but I want to at least get a ball park amount of time to use as guidance.
Thanks,
Tracy

Got mine today (office was closed yesterday, missed delivery) but won't have time to install before this weekend. I must admit, I'm still afraid to install it, and confess there is a distinct possibility I won't install it at all. Funny, I have no qualms about operating on humans, but the thought of me screwing up my car or wiring makes me more than a little queasy...... Greg
it took me about 1.5 hrs. Mostly cause it took a long time to get those wire taps on.

I installed mine on 10/11 and took about 1.5 hours. Most difficult part was stuffing everything back in place once completed. There is not a lot of room for the addition of the remote key but i finally made it work. If I did another installation, I could do it in 30 minutes or less. Also, as previously stated, it works beautifully.

My recommendation would be to contact Wilhelmy-IT directly either by email or phone, both of which are listed on their website. AFAIK they shipped them all out.
