Mike, seal grey was dropped this year for07, it is now a 'special match' color if you want it bad enough, somewhere over $4,000! Be like me and others here, I wanted seal grey and settled for the new meteor grey at $690 extra, what a deal! The forum has had a lot of discussion about this color because it wasused in the late 80's. The big question is, isit the same color asback then, no one reallyknows for sure, butI went for it with sand beige interior, should look awesome! Yup its now a 'special colour'. Seen the meteor at my dealer recently as I was toying with the idea of a 997S. I found the meteor to have a 'brownish' tinge to it and I ruled it as a no-go. My fav colour is the titanium grey found on the Cayenne, wish it was avail on the rest of the range.
Boxman, I ordered the same color combination as you!
My dealer showed me swatches of Seal and Meteor side by side, and while Meteor did seem a little "warmer" than Seal when they were viewed together, I don't think I'd notice the difference if I saw the two swatches separately. I've heard several posters speculate that Meteor has a brown or yellow tinge to it, but if it does, I certainly can't see it.
thanks for the responses all. I've reposted this and will try and kill it.
Was thinking about asking the saleman since I only have a sales book showing the Seal grey as a low cost option would Porsche honor this and cut me a special deal.
Fat chance probably. And for those curious, I design fuselage structure for the 747-400 Frieghter/Passenger and new 747-8 yet to be built. the -8 designation was selected as the Asian carriers were to be big buyers and the number 8 is seen as good luck over there.
