BMW Track Event Video 720p HD

Right-Click and save target as to save the file to your hard drive, then unzip it and watch the video.

http://www.caymanclub.net/files/BMW0806.zip

A couple of notes about the video. The 944 Turbo S that I start out behind can be seen to spit fire out the exhaust pipe at times, he's not running his turbo setup exactly 'stock' but you didn't hear that from me. It is driven by the prez of our region. The 944 in front of him that I later pass is the PCA chief driving instructor for our area of the country and the person who certified me as an instructor. I have a passenger in my car who I didn't know, he was some college age kid that wanted to jump in and ride along with so sometimes you hear us chatting a little bit. Finally, towards the end of the video my brake pad wear warning light comes on at 11min 45secs and just prior to that and after that I'm trying to go lighter on the brakes which means I end up going into a few of the corners a bit hotter and ask the tires the make up for it. Anyway, lots of fun.

Video is 131 MB in size, so it might take awhile for you to download. Feel free to post your download times.

Here is a 2nd and smaller video shot by someone else I loaned the camera to, only 16mb

Great driving and great video quality, Ken. Boy, it sure is flat out there in Kansas! Must have been nice to have a run group with so little traffic.

I am not familiar with the brake pad warning light. Did it end your track driving for the day? How much was left on your pads? Are they still stock pads?

Actually there is a fair amount of elevation change to that track but I think the wide angle lens and lack of trees sort of hides that fact. Nothing like the corkscrew at Laguna Seca though...

Those were stock pads, check out the article I posted on changing your pads and you'll see my old ones that have now been replaced. I didn't end my track day, but I wasn't as hard on my brakes thereafter because I knew I didn't have a lot left.

I've got another quick video from that same weekend shot by someone I loaned the camera to.

This one is much smaller 16 MB - http://www.caymanclub.net/files/CaymanDriveByTrack.zip
