I am not a big proponent of street racing, and only do it when roads are very clear, but here are a list of some of the cars that I have run with. Mind you this is only straight line acceleration so its no big deal. Also, I implore you to save the lectures on this one, thank you
My cayman S, no mods, no desnorking, zero break in, just drove it hard after 200 miles. 6 speed. Races: G35 6 speed coupe, stock. 60-120 = 5-6 car lengths
G35 6 speed coupe, SUPERCHARGED, dead even from 50-110, he started to slightly pull thereafter until we quickly shut it down.
Mach1 2003 Mustang, dead even 60-120.
This isn't a show off thread, just sharing some info with fellow CC'ers in case they were curious of the car's acceleration capabilities compared to other cars.
This is in no way is a definitive list of cars the cayman can beat or not beat, remember, your results may vary.
So if you guys could contribute to this list, win or loss, with the more specifics the better (ie, mods, speeds)
If law enforcement is reading, these are strictly fictional accounts or experiences had on Need For Speed, the video game, thank you.
Of course, please be safe.

I've been very curious as to how well the CS accelerates from 80 up. I have 1,000 miles on the car now, and have yet to get a good opportunity (traffic) to test it out.
Has anyone ran a S2000 or E46 M3 from cruising speeds?
Great thread. How about a stock Mitsu EVO IX? Hopefully this week Ill have my little run with a friend of mine...dont know what to expect...

My commute back from work tonight on a deregulated section of the autobahn was in the company of a modded 400+hp C5 Corvette, from on ramp @30mph to WOT in 6th gear for a few minutes- no idea how fast, couldn't look, but tach was way close to redline in my peripheral...
He pulled around me from about 30mph to 60mph, from then on, he never put any distance on me until we slowed down when his car started acting squirrelly on a shallow left hand sweep and he lifted (well, it was probably 170mph+, so I don't blame him). The Cayman was quite manageable at that speed, but I had to turn PASM off once faster than 150mph, as it was getting severely bumpy...even on the glass smoothness that is der Autobahn...
Caveats -he had two people in the car, I was solo- but with a full fuel load
So, despite 100hp disadvantage, even in straight line driving (yes, I know, not the purpose of the car- I will go punish myself with plenty of Nurburgring Nordschlife tourist laps to redeem myself... ) the Cayman is much faster than the 'Stats' make it look- a perfect car to improve skills in, I don't think I could use 100 more HP until I have substantially improved performance driving skill (gotta find a performance driving school in the Eifel, PDE is way over in Leipzig... ) I know I was not able to effectively put the 420+ HP of my former Paxton-Blown Mustang to the street- it was neigh uncontrollable/tractionless at WOT, even on a drag strip. Now that my obsession with ego-stroking numbers has faded, I am more glad that I chose the CS over the Z06, as the Cayman makes me want to drive it better to get faster, rather than adding more 'right hoof'... and gripping the wheel in white knuckled terror every minute
Wow, sure is nice to have break-in over....

PASM - Porsche Active Suspension Management
This active damping system offers continuous adjustment of individual damping forces based on current road conditions and driving style.
The driver can choose from two setup modes, ‘Normal’ and ‘Sport’, using a separate ‘damper’ button on the center console. ‘Normal’ mode is designed for general road driving and circuits with uneven tarmac. ‘Sport’ mode is intended for smoother track surfaces, where the harder settings help eliminate pitch and roll.
In either mode, PASM continuously evaluates the current conditions while automatically selecting the corresponding damper rates from the respective set of mapped values.
A range of sensors are used to monitor the movement of the body under acceleration, braking and cornering maneuvers, as well as on poor road surfaces. The PASM control unit then evaluates this data and modifies the damping force on each individual wheel in accordance with the selected mode. The result is a significant reduction in body movement as well as a better grip on the road.
For example: if ‘Sport’ mode is selected, the suspension is automatically set to a harder damper rating. If the quality of the track surface falls below a certain threshold, the system immediately changes to a softer rating within the ‘Sport’ setup range. When the quality of the tarmac improves once more, PASM automatically returns to the original, harder rating.

I had some fun with a Viper on the way back from The Ventura- Mid Engine Mania Show.
I had several runs through 3rd,4th & 5th gear. I was rather impressed with how well my CS did against a massive V10 and I could definitley out break that thing.

I had some pre on rampand ramp fun with a buddy that has a C-5 Corvette. Followed him from first through third then backed off in 4th. I hung right on his tail and later he told me he was all the way in it. He was impressed.
