My front license plate 'installation kit' camewitha plastic frame and 6 torx screws -- 4 short and2 long. I assume the 2 long ones are for the plastic frame to the bumper and the 4 short onesare for the license plate to the plastic frame. However, the 4 short ones seems too short to screw onto the plastic frame as the 4 holes in the plastic frame are just too big. Am I missing something?
Is that considered legal for those states that require a front license plate? I've got the tow hook plate from moweraxle and it's a great piece of hardware but still would prefer the bumper to be plateless.
In Ohio its illegal as well, but I'm going to try it and see how long I can go.
My wife has gone 2 years with her Audi A4 Cab not stopped once but, she is a blonde. I see a lot of corvettes without a front plate, I really think if it's a "nice" maybe they won't be apt to pull you over as fast as they would a junker.
As I understand it, placing your license plate inside the windshield does not satisfy CA Vehicle Code section 5201. I know of people who have been ticketed for that.
It is illegal to not have a front plate here in Hawaii, so I got the Moweraxle plate adapter, and it has been a year and I have yet to put it on the car. I won't use it unless I have to, I just keep itin the trunk.
