If you know how to capture shockwave flash files I need someone to go to www.autotrader.com put in your zip code as 28201 and run a search for a Porsche. You are almost guaranteed to get the Hendrick Porsche macromedia flash advertisemtn banner. Hendrick would like to run that banner here as well but they don't know how to capture it to give it to us to put up. I also think it is too large (banners here are 468x60) and may need to be scaled down.

If you can help with this little "project" please let me know!

If I go to there website they have a nice flash media opening page, but if that is what you are talking about you need someone other than me. My skills are limited.

No dont go to their site you want to run a search on AUtotrader for Porsches in that zip code and when you get a page of search results back there will be a banner ad on that page, the banner ad will be for Hendrick, has cars driving on screen and back off. That is actually a flash file and I need to get a copy of it.

Load that in your browser, then save the page. Look at the saved files and you should see 1. the html file with the object tag example (open that file in a text editor to see the details), and 2. the swf file which is the flash file you want.

My example is a little sketchy (re the mostly black background), but I'm sure you and/or someone else can figure it out.

Hi, Russ. Yeah, I'm pretty sure the Flash file is what he wanted. It's the parameters in the object tag I wasn't sure about, regarding the background color. But I'm sure he can make it work now that he has the Flash.

Just in case you are not able to save the actual .swf file from the link posted above, I uploaded it to the Cayman Multimedia Folder as a text file. Once you change the file extension back to .swf, you can open the file directly in a browser.

Guys thanks for making the swf file available, but one question how can I resize it to 468x60? In its current form it is way too large. I dont have any software for manipulating swf files, or is there some other way to resize? (I will check to see if my banner ad software allows me to do that)

NP, Ken. About resizing: I don't have Flash, so I wasn't able to try to edit the file. That's why I posted the html example for you. It shows how to use the object tag to force the Flash content to resize. Have a look at that first; if you still can't get the result you want, let us know and we'll try something else.
