While washing my black 06 CS a couple of days back, I realized that the titanium colored chin spoiler can be easily removed (my oh my I'm slow!) and replaced with another of a different color, in my case, black. I would like to have it in black for a while and then switch back and forth as one color becomes "old". Does any one know how much a black chin spoiler costs?
I ordered one two weeks ago for $95 from the dealer.
That's great news, since it's likely to see a lot of scrapes. $95 for a 'sacrificial' piece isn't so bad... Might just buy a few, get 'em painted up in one batch and leave them in the garage.
LAB: In a recent thread on this topic, there were seemingly conflicting instructions on how to remove the lips (concerning how many screws/bolts had to be taken out). Could you give a bit of info on how you did it?
$32 each with PCA discount for unpainted black at Porsche New Orleans! More if they are painted aluminum ($110). You can also purchase the plastic retaining rivets (not screws) for 35 cents each or get them at Lowes. BTW way I have just completed resraying my lips in Titanium Metallic and will be putting them on tomorrow. I have removed the old set and will respray them Cobalt to match my car. Have to smooth out the gouges first.

Pargolfer,
It is the spoiler that runs along the bottom of the front of the car, underneath the air intakes. On the 06 CS they are all painted in titanium, regardless of the color of the car. It is actually in two pieces, each begining at the leading edge of the wheel well, stoping at the indentation at the front of thr car (which actually serves as the opening for the transmission fluid cooler if you are Tip equipped). With the 2007 cars, the spoilers are all painted body color. I think it makes the front of the car look more aggressive if the spoiler is the same color as the car.
Tony
P.S. I will hang on to the titanium colored spoiler so that I can restore it to original condition if I ever trade up for a significanly more powerful factory made car when ever they decide to really ramp up the power. I hope they don't disappoint. If not, I guess it will be 3.8L conversion in a few years.
