Anyone from Toronto? Need some infos..

Hello...is there anyone from the GTA area in here? If I am not talking to a wall then here goes....I ordered my Cayman on October 27th and the salesman told me that it will be a December built most probably in the first week. The salesman told me that the delivery would be sometime in January (I am guessing and hoping that it is in the first week). So my question is this - have you guys ever had any kind of problems with the delivery date like you received it after your delivery date had passed or any other similar issues? I'm sorry for such a trivial question but I just can't seem to wait for my virign ride!!!

Welcome CaymanZzinncc.

I'm in the Newmarket area, and I bought mine off the lot at Pfaff, so I can't help much either.

Be patient. The wait wil be worth it.

Thanks for all the consolation guys. The wait is getting harder and harder as I come closer to the delivery date (which I do not know).

Thumbs up delivery date

I am from Toronto too, but I am waiting for my CS in Dubai, same story. Dealer said, car is on a ship on the way to Dubai. Arrival on 13, Dec-06
custom clearing needs 2 days, and with all paper works it comes following
few days after 15, Dec. and on. So, who should I trust, they say what they are told to.
I guess it is coming. I am waiting 5 months so far. I will wait three more weeks with crossed fingers.

Good to see all the Toronto members here. Hopefully there wont be any snow so you guys can drive them a bit. I just put mine away for the winter a few days ago.

Yea I'm crossing my fingers for less (or better NO) snow. When I get the car by the end of January or early February I can truly enjoy the true essence of Cayman without the messy snow!

You ordered the car exactly 4 days ahead of me. Let's pray together for good weather.

Hi,

I'll stay stock. However with all these Toronto interests perhaps Zone 1 will be a little more lively next year. A Toronto meet would be nice.

I've had Pfaff lower the car (H&R), install a short shifter, install an EVOMS cold air intake and a GIAC ECU flash. At Mantis, I have installed the Mantis modified camber plates, and they are presently installing and underdrive pulley, sump extension, oil cooler, harness bar and 5-point harnesses.

It's great to have the local expertise.

Welcome and I understand your pain. Both Downtown Porsche and Pfaff are pretty good with their dates. The only thing I've heard of that held things up is at the port when it gets here. I'm assuming you bought from a Toronto Porsche dealership versus a leasing company.

Thanks for the encouraging words! Yes, I bought it from Downtown Porsche...no leasing company for me (I had a nightmarish experience with them once). I just hope that I am not unlucky enough to be the one whose car gets held up in the port!! I am so looking forward to that day! This actually feels like when I got my first bike...I had to wait three months until my birthday came around and there it was standing on the driveway!! O the good old days!

A Toronto meet would be great!! Count me in if you guys organize something like that! Chao for now!
