I just left Princeton Porsche with my order complete with tip, sport chrono, perferred package.I can't get over how fresh the car looked next to the 911. Two months ago I made my mind up to order a Carrera S, got busy, and showed up to order the car last week. The Cayman had just arrived! I fell in love and called several dealers. Do not pay sticker for this car. Princeton is one fantastic dealer. Would love any feedback about the tip with sport chrono?
Sport Chrono and Chrono Plus
This optional package is a valuable addition for trackday use. Available in conjunction with the CDR-24 CD radio, it includes a swivel-mounted analog and digital timer unit which is centrally located on the dashboard. All functions are easily accessible via the control stalk for the on-board computer. Analog dials measure hours, minutes and seconds, while a separate digital field displays whole seconds, tenths and one hundredths of a second. A second digital display runs in parallel in the instrument cluster. Click this Link to visit the FAQ entry for Sport Chrono.
Princeton Porsche
Princeton Porsche located at 3333 US Route 1 South, is your Porsche source in Lawrenceville, NJ. We provide new and pre-owned sales, service, parts and financing. Please visit us to view and test drive Porsche, including the Porsche 911, Cayenne, Boxster
I've driven Tip w/ Sport Chrono. Ordering a Tip w/out Sport Chrono would be a mistake. Sport Chrono's more powerful feel is much more noticeable in a Tip when compared to a manual.
I loved driving the Tip, you won't be dissappointed.
I belive Tips will be VERY uncommon in these cars....even more so than 911 and Boxster Tips.

Many of the Northeast dealers have begun to post their upcoming cars on the porsche website. It seems that about 25% are being built with tip. There are also more cars listed than I would have expected. I hope Porsche doesn't flood the market! What a mistake that would be.
Industry reports suggest about 10,000 Cayman S's in the first year with 4000 coming to the U.S. and most to the two coasts. My dealer has a 'one-a-month' allocation out here in the badlands.
I was at the dealer here today and they were firm on the invoice price. I suppose I don't have to buy local, and wonder if I should push harder for a break.
Smiledoc you say do not pay sticker for this car. So should I get more agressive?
They are nice dealers, but I wonder how many others are geting breaks on this, or is invoice more the norm right now?
The concept of buying anything is that they have a product and you have your hard earned money. How you approach their product or service is basically how open you are to walk away from the dealer if he cannot meet your offer. You should offer a price that both parties can live with. It's a car, not open heart surgery. If you find a dealer with a car that you want, let them know YOU Want the car today, and go to bat with a price.
