Turning off the Snow

I've had a couple of complaints that members couldn't read the site with our new holiday snow feature so I thought I'd post a couple of ways you can turn it off in the mean time.

1) Lower left corner of every page there is a drop down for the site style. Only the Cayman Default style has the snow, simply choose a different style for awhile while the snow is present in the Cayman Default style. (It isn't permanent, just for the holidays)

2) Turn off javascript in your browser - not ideal if you need it for other sites, but will stop the snow since it is javascript based.

Ken - the snow slows down the scrolling of pages on my computer to a crawl, so I've switched back to v-bulletin. Maybe you should make a style just for people who want the snow?

I have turned off the snow because I noticed it slowed a couple of other things down as well, hmmm just like snow in real life I guess... it may re-appear in another style later on... Ho Ho Ho

The snow was kind of cool, but I did notice a slowing in scrolling.

I use Internet Explorer 7 with tabbed browsing (awesome, IMO). I will routinely open 10 or 12 tabs with different threads I want to get to. Well, this morning I did this and I noticed that my fans kicked up to high speed. Those 12 pages were strangleholding my processor. If I closed them down, to only 2 or 3 tabs, the CPU usage came down and the fans turned off.

What about a festive template for the holidays instead....like we had for Halloween?
