F$%^ing DENT! pics :/

Heres the story
Yesterday at 1:00 I was walking back to my car so I could go to lunch. While walking I noticed a girl was placing a note on my window. Before she places the note on the car I unlocked the car (more like saying can I help you with a beep) she walks over to me and explains to me that she was backing up in her range rover when she backed into my car. She is going to pay for the damages but it really ruins you week when something like this happens. At least she was nice enough to leave a note and soon pay for it I hope. Here are some pics
Going to take it to the shop sat since and going to have my rims powder coated.

I have been told to have the dent popped out but one of my friends had that done and now there’s a bump. I also have been told not to replace the panel because the white will become a different color after time with sun?
Any suggestions?

Don't know if you have a Dent Wizard shop near where you live, but they can do wonders with paintless dent repair. If there is no damage to the paint or clearcoat they can repair the panel so it looks like new.

Don't lose hope. Is there any actual damage to the paint - chips, scratches, etc.?

Once you do paintless dent repair, the black marks can be polished out with a good random orbital polisher and foam cutting pad.

Fully agree. I would go with the paintless option too.

ScratchX by Meguiars (sp?) does a pretty good job at taking out small scratches (which might include the black marks). I would try tar remover and regular wax before trying ScratchX though.

Good luck!

I would also try Dent Wizard if there's one in your area, but I used them once on a white benz I had and they couldn't remove it,maybe it was little better but was not gone completely. The person went on to say they can't remove every dent, he didn't charge me at all but I gave him a $20 for his effort. Like anything else it may have been the person, not the dent, good luck!

Ditto. Try PDR first, if they can't fix it a good body shop should be able to fix this for $500 or so. I has similar damage to my MINI, they used so little body putty that a magnet will stick over the spot they fixed.

Oh man that is tragic! But the paintless advice from everyone here is very sound. We had a guy at my dealership who was a magic worker with all his little rods and mirrors and lights at making doorpanels and hoods and trunks look flush and dent free, I would stand out there and watch in awe everytime he was working.

this dumb b*tch in a Range Rover hit my car too. Stupid people who can't drive such a big car should get behind da wheel of a geo metro or something. Anyway, she gave me her # and said she'll pay for it. I also took down her policy # and her plate #.

2 days later we were suppose to meet up, never showed up. called to appoligize and rescheduled. Never showed up a second time... Now I had to claim her insurance. I was being nice and more than fair by asking for only $200 to repaint the bumper. no her insurance is going to sky rocket... what a dumba$$

btw my car was parked and it won't affect my rates

Bummer.

Maybe this will brighten your day.

I once had a friend that had an old Dodge Seneca and no insurance. He drove his car in the snow in Wichita, KS and rear ended this car driven by a girl and her sister. Since he had no insurance, he offered to settle by making payments every payday.

He wound up dating the girl and she fell hopelessly in love with him - so much that he never paid for the repairs for her car.

Then he broke up with her and all is well ...

Good think THIS didn't happen to you ...
