I think the road down to Milford Sound would be spectacular in CS (with no other traffic).
Milford drive is spectacular but there are too many campervans to my liking. Best kept secret is State Highway 8 through Middlemarch and detour through Ida Valley. Some very nice twisties and some very nice straights, and best of all, hardly any traffic ( or cops) . As far as I am concerned, pure Cayman heaven.
My wife Jolyn and I are visiting NZ at the end of the year. Maybe we can manage to meet during that time. We looked into renting a Porsche during our visit and may still do so.

For sure, and make sure you come down to the South Island.
Not sure if the bigger guys (Avis , Hertz ) do porsches rental. But there is an outfit from Auckland that do Boxsters. Go to www.smartcars.co.nz
Or if i talk nicely to dealer he might let me have a demo car, maybe, big maybe. But I can try.
I knew I liked the Kiwis!!!!!! And the fact that they voted the Cayman car of the year makes me like it even more. What makes or breaks most places for me are the people, and the people here are wonderful!
I'm in Christchurch on a trip now through Sunday and love it here! We went white water rafting yesterday and had a blast. I wish I had my Cayman here to try out some of the roads, but I'm not not sure how I would do driving on the other side of the road. I didn't think there was anyone on the board from NZ or else I would have put a post on the board. I'll have to remember that for future travels.
glad you like the country, this place still takes my breath away - better still when I am in my CS.
Only problem is the bug splatter. Not sure if that's a problem elsewhere but once my front plate were indistinguishable (is there such a word?) from all the hits. And those little buggers are hard to get off once they dry off.
JBarrow, hope to catch up with you later in the year.
I am looking forward to meeting. We'll be on the north island for a week and on the south island for a week. I'll keep in touch as the time gets closer and provide some more details (after my wife tells me what they are!).
