gas

How many miles are you guys getting on a full tank of gas? and how would you rate your style of driving from 0 - 10, 10 being the most agressive?

racer06,
Just got back from 2400 mile trip. When I did check the mileage (at fill-up) I was getting 27.5 mph. I drove 10 mph over the posted limit with a few excursions (couldn't help myself) to 110/120.
My actual always is different than the computer.

I think all refer to the Cayman S and not the Cayman.

I only get about 16 mpg. around town - I have a very short commute, the car barely gets warmed up. On the highway I average about 24 mpg at 75-80 mph (typical speeds here in the Northeast). I am somewhat disappointed but, then it's common knowledge that the CAFE numbers don't reflect the real world.

Cheers,

I used to average 16 mpg around town when I first got my Cayman S but now at 9,000 miles on the car I am consistantly at 18.4 mpg.

i keep a spread sheet that chronicles miles, gallons and price per gallon. I end up with MPG from that. I've averaged 18.56 MPG after 5900 mi . Mostly fun local miles with a 7 driving style.

Averaging 18.4 mpg over 8K miles and I would say I drive the car pretty damn hard. Better than I expected

I have a base Cayman with just under 1000 miles. Short short commute - Only about 2.5 miles if I make it a point to go the long way. I just use the computer display for mileage as my in-head calculations are close enough. I get 18.6 - 18.9 MPG. I consider myself (at this point) to drive at about a 4. Take it easy most of the time, with occasional revs up to the 4.2k break-in limit. I have taken it on the freeway a few times with mileage at about 21.2-22.0.

I'm getting the average posted above. Around town 18.4
I also average around 27 between 65 and 70. I recently ventured to Vegas and on the way back I was running between 90 and 120 and even hit a very cool 147 just outside Baker. FUNNNNNNNN STUFFFFFFFF.

Anyone else hit those big time speeds yet. It feels like you butt is 1/4 off the pavement.

Anyway the trip home is 311 miles. I still had 1/4 tank left when I got home.

Not to bad

Who cares about the gas anyway

Jeff
