Black Basalt Pics

My local dealer finally got their Cayman, black basalt instead of the more normal artic silver. Since it was a different color than most, decided to shoot a few pics and put up a small gallery.Didn't want to drag a tripod into the dealers so all the shots are handheld anda couple are blurry due to slow shutter speed. Some are pretty sweet tho. I took a photo of the top where the slots are for the luggage rack that has been discussed. Shots ofboth trunkstoo.

My impression from sitting in it, the sport seats are very nice, more lateral support than my standard seats in my 987. The new leather smell was intoxicating. The interior is almost identical to my 987. The big thing I was hoping for was less of a blind spot to the right rear compared to 987, and it is less, but not much. The Carrera is much better in this regard. Here is a pic that I liked, too bad the front opening doesn't have a nice lookingmesh grill (only functional onTIP).

Here is a link to the gallery (yeah, I know, a couple of C4 997 Carrera pics are there too)

Amazing shoots! Love the angles! Do you mind if I borrow some of those pics for sketching some new angles? Because, you took the best angles of the Cayman I saw to date. Good work!

CF,

Thanks for the kind words. Help yourself to any of the shots you wish, thanks for asking. I should have cropped them but didn't really have time to work them over, these are straight out of the camera but resized for the web. If you need larger versions, shoot me an E-mail.

WOW! That's beautiful and I've heard the basalt is lower maitenance than regular black. If I could have two, I would get this next!!! (in other words I couldn't stand to wait months to reorder!!!!!)

I love the floor - reflections are something else. You can see under the car, without having to go under the car ( sorry about floor talk - I am looking at the options for my floor so I am drown to look at them ;-)) )

The pictures look very nice - Porsches photograph well, and Cayman has some great angles - my car will be here in Feb. or Mar. but I suspect the weather will not allow to take it out till Apr.

I ordered the 19 inch carrera S wheels, but after seeing these I might have just changed my mind. Since my car was a Nov. 2nd build I know they cant change it, but has anyone had any experience with dealers swapping out rims? I assume these were the same price as the carrera S wheels. If anyone has any input please let me know. Thanks for the great pics!!

Agreed on maintenance. The Basalt on my Cayanne is much lower maintenance than the standard black on my Boxster. But for this car - I prefer the non-metalic black.

Still no idea what colout I'd pick.
