Just rememeber they try to have fun and balance stories. The fact that the producer ordered a Cayman S is a great testimonial. Clarkson knowing this has gone out of his way to trash it, so e end up with a balanced review I think.
Top Gear is my favorite car show...ever. The fact that it is no longer on TV in the US is shame.
And even though Clarkson seemed to trash our cars, his only real major bitch was that it was not allowed to beat the 911, and he did not like the styling. Oh well...to each his own.
I have to wonder though about the fact the biggest woody he got was over the SatNav.
I do agree with Dave, clarkson's reviews are always entertaining, but not always accurate.
It's important to realize that he wants to entertain first, inform second. The point that he keeps making about the CS sloting between the 997 and Boxster is not as profound as he seems to think, since Porsche freely admits that's the case. I do have to admit that I had to chuckle at his renaming the CS to the Coxster.
One of the things that really bugs me about his comments is the one about the ease of mistaking Reverse and 1st gear. That's a load of ****. I've never come close to making that mistake.
He clearly isn't a big fan of Porsche and he really focuses on the cost of options.

He's also bitter that James May owns a Boxster S and Hamster owns a 997S and all he's got is his GT40 which is always back at Ford, oh and his girly SLK 55
maybe Porsche don'r really have a great PR department. Thats what i learned today in class. lol
Better PR department = gives media a good reputation about the company/product that they are going to launch.
btw, thats just my understanding, correct me if i'm worng.
StatiX, you are correct it is about PR and if you go back and look at the launch of the Cayman you would think that it was the finest machine ever developed. Every magazine of any note had a story saying so! It came close to being over the top even for such a great car.

I must be an idiot as well as for a split second, I mixed them up just an hour ago.
Admittedly, I haven't driven the CS in over two weeks and have been driving two other MT cars since - all with R somewhere else. It's not that intuitive but it's certainly a nothing if you drive it enough and get used to it.
