open glove box chirp

I saw that with the open glove box the car chirps as it locks. where is the sensor that knows if it is closed or open? I want tape it or something and deactivate the light so the car chirps. i rather have no light on the glove compartment and have it chirp... anyone know where it is? any advice is appreciated!!

It is the latch mechanism, if it is closed then no chirp, if open then chirp.

But with this method, you won't know if the doors/latch are closed all the way would you? As a result, you could run your battery down. The other thing too is, I get this feeling that the light (or draw on electricity) is what the alarm detects and it thinks something is not closed all the way, hence it will chirp. You can test this by removing the bulb to the glove and see if it still chirps. I haven't played with this but maybe somebody else can confirm.

Good luck with this! Let us know how it goes.

I think you'd like some of the other features of the product too, but if you want to get it at a discount sign up for the group buy interest list, enough people get in on a group buy and the price comes down. BTW, their solutions for other cars are higher priced.
