Found another car, but....

I love this stuff.

Anyway, I've found a second car to give SWMBO a choice in color and options. The red car has mostly sporty options.

This one is more on the luxury side.

For those that have it - What does the Full leather seating option get you? I've tried on the Porsche website and can't seem to find what additional leather surfaces are included.

Second question: I first looked at this car in Nov. it's still on the dealer's lot and they are willing to do a great (IMHO) deal and I'm wondering if I should worry that it's generally been sitting too long. I know they'll prep it, but do you think there might be any long term issues with it having sat for that long?

I know you guys are full of wisdom and I appreciate your help!

Ole Joe

Full leather is awesome. Its half the reason I bought the car. The dash, the glove box, the instrument cluster cover, most of the center console, doors, and of course the seats are covered and feature beautiful stitching. I've never even seen a car where a real leather dash was an option, including our Mercedes. Seems like the price is good too. It's $2500, and I remember lousy American cars 10 years ago that took $1200 or so just to get crappy leather on the seats.

You guys are great!

As you have seen, while not indecisive, I'm very cautious about spending this amount of money. My wife is still not convinced we need to spend this amount of money on a car. We've been married 35 years and we've stayed that way by making BIG money decisions together.

AND the delay is helping in getting get a better deal. I read once that the more time the salesman invests with you, the better deal you can (not necessarily will) get. The offers have come from "We'll give you a small courtesy discount," to "I'll take 9% off MSRP."

So, to end this massive missive, unless SWMBO tells me I absolutley cannot buy the car, I plan to have one under my hot butt by the end of Feb. AND all of you guys said to buy toward the EOM as you CAN (not necessarily will) get a better deal.

And I really do appreciate your help/advise/comments. This is a great place to hang.

Ole Joe

Joe - Take a good look at that wonderful expanse of leather across the dash with no seams, the beautiful stitching on the doors, and there's no going back... full-leather is the bomb.

Your actual build date is usually within a day or so of what the dealer tells you.

CC post showing a Carrera in black/terra (maybe a factory Cayman option in MY08? pretty please?) :

For my order (later this year) I am now inclined to get basalt on terra, with the dash (upper and lower) in deviating black with terra deviating stitching. I had been thinking Atlas for the exterior but it didn't grow on me.
