If I understand this correctly the are bidding for his slot and still will pay MSRP + 500. So people are willing to pay 4,500 over MSRP? Seems to me they can pay MSRP all day long w/ over 100 stock Caymans alone in California. I'm sure other states are the same way...
The 'overstock' number is probably not correct. 1. Porsche's computer system is not real time, 2. The dealer websitelists everything he expects to get over the year, 3. There are only 4000 plus/minus coming to the US for the entire year, 4. My dealer can only get one/month for 2006. I think people have figured this out.
There are Feb delivery cars available & March delivery can still be ordered to spec. Goes to prove there's a fool born every minute & most can be found somewhere on eBay.
I agree. Santa Fe, the dealers are listing vin#'s on their web-site's. Even if half is correct that makes for plenty of stock available. Don't get me wrong I laid my money down and bought one. I would love to see the value's remain high. Just not sure what some folks are thinking when making major purchases.
Patch2, one way to test it is to sell yours to the e-bayers and buy a near month delivery. I am not that brave however. I'm sure supply and demand will eventually work itself out but you seem like the rest of us and willing to pay a bit more for what we want now. Not good financial planning is it???
Your right, we have waited long enough. Let's hope the Cayman retains a strong resale value!!! The only way this will be possible is if Porsche does not overbuild next year.
I decided when I ordered that if I can make $7500, I'll do it. And I'll order another one same day. That's my price to wait. I may list mine...
Question: It says on my deposit form that my spot is not transferable. It seems I would have to buy the car and resell it and therefore pay sales tax. How will these ebay sellers avoid the tax? Or will they...
And then the buyer would pay sales tax again.
Yikes, so mine would cost (78,950*1.0775+7,500)*1.0775 = 99,742 + title & destination LOL Go ahead baller!
