2006 cayman S VS newer caymans

All,

I'm in the market for a Cayman. Presently the 2006 Cayman S is right in my price range. My question for you guys is are there any known problems with 2006s that I should know about? Should I wait until 07s fall into my price range or should i go for an 06?

I'm looking at an 06 tonight so fast response would be great!!!

Thanks!
David

I purchased a brand new Cayman S on February 27,2006. I presently have 18,000 exciting miles on it without lick of trouble. It just keeps getting better!

No reason to pass on an '06. There were a few (very few) teething issues on early cars that in all likelihood have already been resolved by the prior owner under warranty. The car is still under warranty, so get the best deal you can. Do get a thorough PPI (including an over-rev printout) as you should with any used car.

I believe some of the early 2006 cars had issues with the catalytic converters that were part of a TSB service recall.

My response is in your other post asking the same question. Perhaps a moderator will consolidate them.

how do you guys feel about buying from the dealer? Do I need to get a PPI if it's certified already? I'm trying to get the Certified Pre-owned where it adds another 2 years plus another 50k miles to the warranty. SO at the end of the day you get 6 years total and 100k mile warranty...
