I was intending to go for an Audi S4 (the RS4 wasn't available in Nov 05) then I went down the line of a 997, then a friend showed me a side shot of the Cayman..........I was hooked and ordered there and then (March 05) I'm still Mr "Happy" today !!!!

I started out looking for a Z4 M Coupe, then a 996. Then I drove a Cayman S and had to have it! It just felt right. I love the look and the drive - can't really ask for more than that!

In addition to the Porsche Cayman & Cayman S, I was looking at Chevrolet Corvette, BMW 535i, Audi S4 or A6, BMW Z4 M Coupe and Infiniti G37. I've always wanted a Porsche, and none of the other cars and dealers changed my mind this time. I can't wait to take delivery...

Honda S2000, cockpit too small and a Nissan 350Z which didn't seem to provide good visibility. The Cayman was ergonomically just right for me.

Always wanted a Porsche, but a 997 done right (in my mind at least) means north of $100K USD or a GT3. Not a good use of my resources at this point of my life. Not a being a convertible type person, the Cayman "hit the spot" for me and I'm enjoying every minute.

I had always wanted a Boxster. When in the dealer in late 2005 I asked about the car in the showroom with a cover on it. It was a Cayman S, as soon as I saw it I knew I had to have one.

I was considering a Jag XKR, (much more $$$, shorter warranty, tiptronic only). Also possibles were Vette Z6, actually a great deal, less $$$, 5 year warranty and impressive stats. Gas mileage in the CS was better, I liked the look of the CS better, and at least for now, it seems a little more "exotic" and exclusive compared to the Vette. After checking out comments on this site and reading many reviews, I got a 2007 CS four months ago. It's been fantastic. Thanks to everyone at the Cayman Club for steering me right!
