Used Cayman 2008 vs used 2006 S

I haven't posted in a while since I got my 08 cayman tip but I am thinking about trading in for a used 2006 Cayman S tip with 10k miles on it. Was curious if anyone thought I would be giving anything up in getting the 06 instead of the 08. I feel like I am missing out by trading in my 6 month old car but I feel the extra horsepower may be worth it. Has anyone driven both and have comparisons?

I don't think you will be disappointed , unless the 06 is a lemon.

Cheers

I used a Cayman when my S was in for service for a day and there is a noticeable difference but you are probably going to take a sizeable bath on your car.

You might as well wait a little bit for the TPC turbo for the 2.7. The hit you will take on your car might be equal to the cost for their 150-170 hp kit.

Having had an 06 C with a Tip, and having moved into an 07 S with a M, I can safely say that even in base form, the Cayman is a fantastic car, even without the upgrade to "S" status.
You really have to press the car hard to notice the braking power.
Wheel size, is subjective to how you use the car.
My opinion, the base car makes better sounds at high revs.
Especially with the gear noise of the Tip.
It drove me to spec the "S" with the sport exhaust.
But ... the 06 "S" that has your interest is coming off of warranty.
Keep the warranty. Be happy. Unless it has options that make it "love at first sight" keep the new car. You'll take a bath $$$ wise.
