Cayman vs CS Aesthetic Differences

So I've decided that my first car is going to be a cayman, I'm 22 and by mid summer I should have enough saved to buy the car of my dreams outright (looking for a used 06/07) . I have a week left of exams before I graduate and I'm so excited that I can barely sit still and stay focused to get this wretched **** done.

Anyway, theres are clear divergence in tech and performance between the two, but I've never read a post about any cosmetic variations between the cayman and the cayman S. I've only noticed a few minor things myself, among them being the different badges on the trunk for the CS obv. and that CS's have painted brake callipers. Are there any other differences?

Thanks for any help

The Cayman S has twin tailpipes, while the non-S Cayman has a single pipe. The standard wheels (17" vs. 18") are obviously different, although you can get the non-S Cayman with 18" or 19" as an option.

Those red calipers are also bigger...

Interior trim for Cayman is mainly Volcano Grey while CS has Volcano Gray and Aluminum look - trim strip is an example of that.

the front spoiler lip on a CS is painted the same color as the car. on the NON-S, it's usually silver.

This has been discussed here before, here are a couple of examples:

There are several examples in this post by Gator Bite: Cayman 2.7 versus 3.4 (Comparison/Differences)

You can check here as well: Cayman Base / S Differences

You can also check our FAQ that lays out some of the differences: The Cayman Club - FAQ: Miscellaneous

Providing all those examples is a nice, constructive way of helping. On other forums, you would mostly see 10 beligerent posts telling the OP to USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION! This example of patient courtesy is one of the reasons I like to visit this forum. Thank you.

The Cayman is really, really good looking. The CS, not so much.

There are interior trim differences: leather trim pieces in the Cayman S that are vinyl in the Cayman and black gauge faces in the C vs white faces in the CS. I believe there's a difference in the standard radios and speaker configurations (at least in NA) between the C and CS.

a small correction

in 2006 (only CS variants built), the front spoiler lip was silver, or you could get an optional aluminum one (which looks nearly identical in color but costs significantly more) or have it painted body color

in 2007 the CS front spoiler lip came in body color as standard but you could still purchase optional aluminum front spoiler lip; the Cayman front spoiler is black but you can opt for aluminum or body color at extra cost

as TX KmanS has noted, see the links for further info
