Smile A few impressions - CS, CS Tip, Boxster Tip

Since my CS has been in "ill health" the past few days, I've had the opportunity to drive two different loaners, a CS Tip and today, a Boxster Tip, Limited Edition.
The CS Tip was pretty much like my CS except for 18" stock wheels and the auto. Since I put about 200 miles on this one, I got pretty familiar with the Tip in both auto and manual modes, neither of which sat well with me. Floor it to pass and the downshifts are OK, but when you pull in, it doesn't what to upshift even though I stepped lightly on the gas. I suppose? it's set for track use, holding the gear in anticipation of a corner and subsequent need for power. The Boxster seems a little smoother, both in manual and auto, even in the Sport mode (Sport Chrono is std on these ltd edition cars). And the 2.7 Boxster doesn't lacking for power either as it moves out very smartly. In Sport, the intake/exhaust sound better than my stock CS... much richer in tone, particularly the exhaust which I think is the PSE. This is orange/black with black/silver wheels (very nice). But it does remind me of candy corn and Halloween! Has an Alcantara (mouse fur) sport wheel, also nice, alcantara inserts in the seats. I have to wonder how this stuff will wear over time as compared to leather. The steering wheel does feel good though.
My CS, at 11k, now needs a new O2 sensor one side, overnight delivery and I should be back on the road tomorrow afternoon.
