Car & Driver still has not shown up either in my mailbox or at the local newsstand. When Motor Trend showed up I wondered if both Car & Driver and Motor Trend had done the same comparison.

Do you also have the Car and Driver comparison mentioned in another thread? I still haven't been to the store to get that one yet.
Yep, I said that before too. That BMW looks GOOFY. urgh. Specs on paper it looks good but the asthetics are not good. Sort of bulbus looking, If thats is a word.
mpollard: You can scan a magazine and publish it here ok without any copyright issues? Just a thought. I have several mags with articles comparing the Cayman to other cars.
Thats a great comparison. Its very interesting to see the Cayman kick the Z4's *** in performance tests. Especially after all the talk lately about Caymans power (or lack thereof). BMW claims many more killowatts and .5 second better 0-100 but these independant results show the full picture.
so it's faster than 5.1asindicated in theporsche brochures.Am I right ?
Porsche's published acceleration times have historically been quite conservative.Plus, the magazine testers, especially C&D,frequently abuse the **** out of the cars to get the bragging rights for producing the fastest times.Unlike us, theydon't own&don't have to pay to repair the cars.
I was reading today about the world speed record for a factory ute (pickup) being recently broken in Australia. The car was a standard Holden (GM) HSV Maloo R8 pickup (ute). The speed was 271kmph. (Our Caymans are faster). This pickup has 285 kw of power.
This just shows that power is not everything. Our cars are faster with a LOT less power.
And this was recorded on a long flat unrestricted road in the middle of the Australian outback.
